Working exclusively from life, Simon Boudard employs the classical sight-size method, observing subject and image as a unified whole. Rooted in the traditions of Titian, Van Dyck, Velázquez, Reynolds, Lawrence and Sargent, this approach prioritises clarity, proportion and visual unity, informing both his portraiture and contemporary practice.
