ARTIST STATEMENT
Simon Boudard’s paintings explore the convergence of archetypal imagery, sacred geometry, and technological systems. Combining classical figurative training with contemporary symbolic structures, the works investigate consciousness, synthetic identity, and the increasingly mediated relationship between humanity and reality.
Executed entirely by hand using natural pigments and high-gloss surfaces, the paintings function simultaneously as reflective objects, symbolic diagrams, and psychological spaces. Through symmetrical compositions and techno-mythological iconography, Boudard constructs visual systems that position the viewer between spiritual archetype and contemporary technological culture.

Through these layered symbolic structures, Boudard’s work examines the tension between spiritual archetype and contemporary technological culture, creating paintings that exist between ritual object, speculative mythology, and contemporary figurative abstraction.
Symmetry, circuitry, labyrinths, and reflective surfaces operate as visual systems through which themes of transformation, control, transcendence, and perception are examined.
The high gloss reflective finish becomes an active component of the work, drawing the surrounding environment and the viewer into the composition itself.
